Terms of service

Welcome to Living Loom Rugs.

We believe that a thoughtfully designed home begins with quality, craftsmanship, and trust. We are committed to providing clear information about our products, ordering procedures, payments, shipping, returns, and customer responsibilities.

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern the use of www.livingloomrugs.com (the “Site”) and purchases made directly through our online store.

The Site is operated by Living Loom Rugs (“Living Loom Rugs,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a business based in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, India, serving customers in the United States and other supported international destinations.

Please read these Terms and our linked policies carefully before placing an order.

When you place an order and accept these Terms through the checkout process, you agree to the terms applicable to your purchase, subject to applicable law.

These Terms do not limit consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.

1. Overview & Scope

Living Loom Rugs offers premium hand-tufted wool rugs, printed machine washable rugs, and other rug and home furnishing products.

These Terms apply to:

  • Use of our website and its available features.
  • Product selection and purchases.
  • Orders, payments, and promotions.
  • Custom-size and specially prepared products.
  • Shipping, returns, and refunds.
  • Customer accounts and communications.
  • Other services offered directly through our online store.

The following policies form part of the terms applicable to purchases, where relevant:

We encourage customers to review these policies before completing an order.

If a product-specific disclosure or an expressly agreed custom-order specification differs from a general provision, the more specific disclosure or agreement will apply to that matter, subject to mandatory law.

2. Customer Eligibility & Account Responsibilities

By placing an order, you confirm that you are legally capable of entering into a purchase agreement in your jurisdiction or are acting with the authorization of a parent or legal guardian where permitted by law.

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during checkout or account registration.

This includes your name, contact details, shipping address, billing information, and any necessary product specifications.

If you create an account, you are responsible for taking reasonable steps to protect your login credentials and notifying us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

You must not knowingly use another person's account or payment information without authorization.

You are not responsible for unauthorized transactions merely because they occurred through your account; responsibility will be determined according to the circumstances and applicable law.

We may request reasonable verification of certain transactions to prevent fraud or unauthorized purchases.

3. Product Information & Descriptions

We make reasonable efforts to present accurate information about our products, including:

  • Product names and descriptions.
  • Rug materials and construction.
  • Sizes, shapes, and dimensions.
  • Colors and design details.
  • Pile height and other stated specifications.
  • Care instructions.
  • Availability and preparation estimates.
  • Applicable customization options.

Product information is intended to help customers make informed purchasing decisions.

We may update descriptions, images, prices, and product availability for future purchases. These changes will not automatically alter an accepted order.

Hand-Tufted Wool Rugs

Our hand-tufted rugs involve skilled craftsmanship and finishing processes.

Because of the nature of handmade production, minor variations in texture, carving, pile direction, pattern placement, color tone, or dimensions may occur.

These characteristics do not necessarily indicate a manufacturing defect.

However, products must still conform to their material descriptions, representations, and any applicable legal requirements.

Printed Machine Washable Rugs

Our printed machine washable rugs are designed and manufactured using materials and printing processes specified in their respective product listings.

Their construction, thickness, texture, and care requirements differ from those of hand-tufted wool rugs.

Customers should follow the product-specific care instructions, including any restrictions relating to washing machines, rug size, heat, and drying methods.

Product Images & Color Representation

We make reasonable efforts to present product images that accurately represent the listed rug.

However, appearance may vary due to:

  • Device screen settings.
  • Lighting conditions.
  • Photography and image processing.
  • Material texture and pile direction.
  • Normal production characteristics.

Lifestyle photographs, digital room settings, and styled presentation images may be used to demonstrate design and placement.

Unless expressly included in the product listing, furniture, accessories, rug pads, and other decorative items appearing in photographs are not included with the rug.

Minor visual differences do not automatically qualify as defects, but this provision does not excuse a product that materially differs from its description or approved specifications.

4. Rug Sizes, Measurements & Custom Orders

Customers are responsible for selecting the appropriate rug size, shape, and design for their intended space.

All dimensions are provided in the units identified on the applicable product page.

Before purchasing, we recommend measuring the intended placement area and allowing for furniture positioning, door clearance, and room layout.

Standard-Size Rugs

Standard-size rugs are offered in the dimensions listed on the relevant product page.

Any normal manufacturing tolerance must remain consistent with applicable law and the product representations made at purchase.

Custom-Size & Personalized Rugs

Custom-size and personalized orders may be produced according to specifications supplied or approved by the customer.

These may include:

  • Requested length and width.
  • Shape and edge configuration.
  • Design adjustments.
  • Color selections.
  • Other agreed customization requirements.

For orders requiring custom approval, we may provide a written summary of the proposed specifications.

Customers should carefully review and approve those details before production begins.

Once customer-specific production has started, modifications or cancellations may be restricted, subject to the applicable cancellation terms and mandatory consumer rights.

If an approved custom order cannot be manufactured according to the agreed specifications, we will contact the customer to discuss available options.

We will not substitute materially different specifications without the customer's agreement.

Custom and personalized rugs may be excluded from standard change-of-mind returns, as clearly disclosed before purchase and explained in our Return & Refund Policy.

These restrictions do not eliminate rights relating to defective, incorrect, undelivered, or materially nonconforming products.

5. Product Availability & Order Acceptance

Products displayed on our website are offered subject to availability and applicable order requirements.

After an order is submitted, the customer may receive an automated order acknowledgement.

An automated acknowledgement confirms that an order request has been received; it does not necessarily mean every aspect of the order has been accepted for fulfillment.

We may review orders for:

  • Product availability.
  • Accurate product specifications.
  • Valid payment authorization.
  • Delivery feasibility.
  • Suspected fraud or unauthorized activity.
  • Material pricing or technical errors.
  • Compliance with applicable laws and shipping restrictions.

We may decline, limit, or cancel an order for a legitimate reason, including unavailability, an inability to fulfill the order, an apparent material error, or a reasonable concern about fraud.

We will not cancel orders arbitrarily or use this provision to avoid legal obligations.

If we cancel an order after collecting payment and no products have been supplied, we will notify the customer and issue a full refund of the canceled portion, including related amounts required by applicable law.

Any proposed substitution or materially different product must be approved by the customer before fulfillment.

6. Pricing, Currency & Payment

Product Prices

Unless otherwise indicated, product prices are displayed in United States Dollars (USD).

Prices may vary according to rug size, material, construction, design, customization, and applicable promotions.

The purchase price confirmed at checkout will govern an accepted order, subject to applicable law and any corrections agreed upon with the customer.

Pricing Errors

Although we take reasonable care to maintain accurate prices, technical or administrative errors may occasionally occur.

If we discover a material pricing error before fulfilling an order, we may contact the customer to explain the error and offer the choice of:

  • Proceeding at the corrected price, with the customer's agreement; or
  • Canceling the affected order and receiving an appropriate full refund.

We will not automatically increase the amount charged for an accepted order without the customer's authorization.

Nothing in this section removes rights arising under applicable laws regarding advertised prices, accepted contracts, or misleading pricing practices.

Accepted Payment Methods

We accept payment methods made available through our checkout.

These may include eligible credit cards, debit cards, digital wallets, and other payment services supported by the store.

Available payment options may vary by customer location, currency, eligibility, and payment provider.

Transactions may be subject to verification by the relevant payment processor, card issuer, or financial institution.

Where installment payment or financing options are offered, the provider's separate eligibility requirements and terms may apply.

Payment Authorization

By submitting payment information, you confirm that you are authorized to use the selected payment method.

You authorize the applicable payment service to process the purchase amount shown at checkout.

We do not require customers to provide complete payment card details through ordinary email or customer support messages.

7. Taxes, Customs Duties & Import Charges

The amount payable for an order may include applicable sales taxes or other charges disclosed during checkout.

Customers are responsible for reviewing the checkout summary before confirming payment.

Living Loom Rugs ships from or through international fulfillment locations, and certain orders may cross national borders.

Depending on the destination and shipping arrangement, customs authorities may assess:

  • Import duties.
  • Import taxes.
  • Customs clearance charges.
  • Brokerage or handling fees imposed by authorized providers.

Free shipping does not automatically mean that import duties or taxes are included.

Unless the checkout information or order confirmation expressly states that applicable import duties and taxes are prepaid by Living Loom Rugs, the recipient may be responsible for charges assessed by the destination country.

Where duties are included in the price or prepaid under the agreed shipping arrangement, we will not request that customers pay those same charges again.

Any information provided about anticipated import costs is subject to applicable customs rules and the actual shipment circumstances.

Customers may contact our support team before ordering if they require clarification about international charges or delivery arrangements.

For additional details, please review our Shipping & Delivery Policy.

8. Shipping, Production & Delivery

We aim to provide clear preparation, dispatch, and delivery estimates for our rugs.

Because our products have different manufacturing and preparation requirements, fulfillment timelines vary by construction.

Estimated Preparation & Dispatch

Product Type

Estimated Dispatch

Hand-Tufted Wool Rugs

2–4 weeks after order confirmation

Printed Machine Washable Rugs

1–3 weeks after order confirmation

These periods generally include normal preparation, production where applicable, quality inspection, handling, and packaging.

Certain oversized or specially prepared rugs may require additional time. Any applicable extended preparation estimate should be disclosed before order confirmation.

Estimated Delivery After Dispatch

Once an order has been handed over to the shipping carrier, standard transit is generally estimated at 5–10 business days, depending on destination and shipping conditions.

Preparation time and transit time are separate.

Estimated delivery periods are not guarantees of a specific arrival date.

Shipping Charges

We offer free standard shipping on eligible U.S. rug orders and complimentary international standard shipping for supported orders, subject to the destination and oversized or special-order exceptions stated in our Shipping & Delivery Policy.

Any applicable additional shipping charge will be disclosed and agreed upon before the order is finalized.

Unexpected Shipping Delays

If we determine that an order cannot be shipped within the promised dispatch period, we will provide the notifications and options required by applicable law.

These may include a revised shipment timeframe and the choice to accept the delay or cancel the affected unshipped order for a prompt, full refund.

We will not treat a standard non-returnable or made-to-order classification as eliminating any legally required shipping-delay cancellation rights.

Risk of Loss & Delivery Problems

Responsibility for goods lost or damaged during transportation will be determined according to applicable law and the agreed delivery arrangements.

Customers should report missing, damaged, or incorrectly delivered packages promptly so we can assist with a carrier investigation.

A carrier's tracking status does not, by itself, eliminate any legally available remedy for a delivery that did not occur.

For complete details, please review our Shipping & Delivery Policy.

9. Order Changes & Cancellations

We understand that customers may occasionally need to modify or cancel an order.

Cancellation Within 12 Hours

Customers may request cancellation within 12 hours of placing an order without a cancellation penalty.

Eligible requests received within this period will be processed according to our Return & Refund Policy.

Cancellation After 12 Hours

After the initial cancellation window, cancellation or modification cannot be guaranteed.

This is particularly relevant for custom-size, personalized, hand-tufted, and other specially prepared products where production or material preparation may already have started.

We will review later cancellation requests according to the order's actual preparation and fulfillment status.

Where a later cancellation is possible, we will communicate the applicable arrangement before confirming it.

Changes to Orders

Requests to change a rug's size, color, design, delivery address, or other specifications should be submitted as soon as possible.

Any modification depends on the order status, production requirements, availability, and logistics arrangements.

Additional charges arising from a customer-requested change will be communicated for approval before the change is made.

Mandatory Cancellation Rights

The standard 12-hour cancellation window does not override cancellation and refund rights available under applicable law.

These include qualifying circumstances involving shipment delays, unavailable products, incorrect charges, or other legally recognized grounds.

For complete details, please review our Return & Refund Policy.

10. Returns, Exchanges & Refunds

Living Loom Rugs offers a 30-day return window for eligible rugs, beginning on the date of delivery.

Return eligibility depends on the product category, condition, size, and any clearly disclosed restrictions applicable at purchase.

For ordinary change-of-mind returns, eligible rugs generally must be unused, unwashed, and free from customer-caused damage.

Certain products may be excluded from standard change-of-mind returns, including:

  • Custom-size and personalized rugs.
  • Rugs expressly designated as non-returnable made-to-order products.
  • Oversized rugs measuring 8 feet wide or larger.
  • Clearance products or items clearly marked Final Sale.
  • Products that fail the applicable condition requirements.

A discounted price alone does not necessarily make an otherwise eligible product Final Sale; the applicable restriction must be consistent with our published Return & Refund Policy and the information disclosed at purchase.

Return Shipping

Customers are generally responsible for return shipping costs associated with eligible change-of-mind returns.

Where an item is confirmed to be damaged, defective, or incorrectly supplied due to our error, we will provide an appropriate remedy and cover reasonable corrective shipping costs where required by the circumstances and applicable law.

Refund Processing

Approved refunds will be processed according to our Return & Refund Policy and any applicable legal deadlines.

Refunds are ordinarily made to the original payment method unless a different method is legally required or appropriately agreed upon.

Statutory Rights

Return exclusions and Final Sale designations do not eliminate rights or remedies that cannot legally be restricted.

Our Return & Refund Policy provides the complete applicable conditions and procedures.

11. Rug Care, Installation & Proper Use

Customers should follow the care instructions supplied on the product page or with the purchased rug.

Different constructions require different cleaning and maintenance methods.

Hand-Tufted Wool Rugs

Depending on the product instructions, appropriate care may include gentle vacuuming, promptly blotting spills, periodic rotation, and professional cleaning when necessary.

Machine washing, aggressive scrubbing, unsuitable chemicals, or excessive moisture may damage certain hand-tufted wool rugs.

Printed Machine Washable Rugs

Machine washable rugs must be cleaned according to the instructions applicable to their material, dimensions, and construction.

Machine capacity, water temperature, washing cycle, drying method, and heat restrictions must be considered.

The term “machine washable” does not mean that every rug size is suitable for every household washing machine.

Placement & Safety

Rugs should be placed on appropriate surfaces and used with suitable rug pads where needed to reduce movement or slipping.

Customers should consider floor finishes, traffic conditions, pets, children, furniture weight, and moisture exposure when selecting and using a rug.

These recommendations do not remove our responsibility for product safety, accurate instructions, or legally recognized defects.

Damage From Improper Use

Damage directly caused by misuse, unsuitable cleaning methods, unauthorized alteration, or failure to follow reasonable product-specific care instructions may not qualify for an ordinary product-defect remedy, depending on the circumstances and applicable law.

This section does not exclude any mandatory warranty or consumer rights.

12. Product Quality, Defects & Consumer Guarantees

We aim to supply products that conform to their stated descriptions, specifications, and applicable quality requirements.

Minor characteristics resulting from legitimate handmade production are not automatically defects.

However, significant defects, materially inaccurate descriptions, incorrect products, or failures to meet applicable legal requirements will be addressed according to our policies and mandatory consumer protections.

Any express product warranty or guarantee will apply only where its terms have been clearly provided to the customer.

We do not create an additional fixed-duration product warranty through these Terms unless expressly stated in the applicable product documentation.

Nothing in these Terms excludes any implied warranty, statutory guarantee, product liability, or other consumer right that cannot lawfully be waived.

13. Promotions, Discount Codes & Special Offers

Living Loom Rugs may occasionally offer promotional pricing, discount codes, special collections, or limited-time campaigns.

Each promotion may be subject to specific conditions, including:

  • Eligibility requirements.
  • Validity dates.
  • Eligible product categories.
  • Minimum order values, where applicable.
  • Restrictions on combining offers.
  • Customer or order usage limits.
  • Final Sale classifications, where clearly disclosed.

Promotional conditions will be communicated through the relevant offer and checkout information.

We may decline fraudulent, duplicated, unauthorized, or otherwise invalid promotional redemptions.

We will not retroactively remove an earned and properly applied discount from an accepted purchase without a lawful basis.

Any advertised savings or comparison prices should accurately represent the underlying offer.

Giveaways, sweepstakes, influencer collaborations, and other special campaigns may be governed by additional official rules supplied for those activities.

Participation in a promotion does not automatically grant us permission to use a participant's personal image, likeness, or content for advertising outside the permissions and agreements applicable to that promotion.

14. Intellectual Property Rights

The Site and its original content may include materials protected by copyright, trademark, design, and other intellectual property laws.

These materials may include:

  • The Living Loom Rugs brand name and logos.
  • Original rug designs and artwork.
  • Product photographs and videos.
  • Website graphics and visual assets.
  • Written product descriptions.
  • Editorial and promotional content.
  • Website layout and other protected materials.

Such content belongs to Living Loom Rugs or its respective lawful owners and licensors.

You may access and use the Site for lawful personal shopping and other permitted purposes.

You may not reproduce, commercially exploit, distribute, modify, or use protected content in a manner that infringes applicable rights without appropriate authorization.

Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of our intellectual property to customers.

If you believe content on our Site infringes your intellectual property rights, please contact us with sufficient information to review the concern.

15. Customer Reviews, Photographs & Submitted Content

Customers may voluntarily submit reviews, feedback, photographs, or other material through features made available on our Site.

By submitting content intended for public display, you confirm that you have the necessary rights to provide that content and that it does not knowingly violate the rights of others.

You grant Living Loom Rugs a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to host, reproduce, format, and display such submitted content as reasonably necessary to operate the relevant review, feedback, or community feature, subject to applicable law.

Ownership of your original content remains with you.

Private customer support photographs, order documents, and personal communications will not automatically be treated as material authorized for public advertising.

Any separate use of identifiable customer photographs, videos, testimonials, or likenesses in paid advertising will be subject to appropriate permissions and applicable law.

We may moderate or remove content that is unlawful, fraudulent, infringing, threatening, or otherwise violates reasonable platform rules.

We will not knowingly fabricate customer reviews, misrepresent experiences, or suppress genuine negative reviews in a manner prohibited by law.

Where reviews or endorsements arise from gifted products, incentives, employment relationships, or paid collaborations, applicable material connections must be disclosed.

16. Acceptable Website Use

Customers and visitors agree not to misuse our website or interfere with its lawful operation.

Prohibited activities include:

  • Attempting unauthorized access to customer accounts or website systems.
  • Using stolen or unauthorized payment information.
  • Submitting knowingly false or fraudulent transaction details.
  • Uploading malicious code or attempting to compromise website security.
  • Interfering with checkout, payment processing, or other users' access.
  • Impersonating another person or business.
  • Using website content in violation of applicable intellectual property laws.
  • Using automated systems to abuse, overload, or disrupt the Site.
  • Engaging in unlawful conduct through our website.

We may take proportionate action to protect the Site, customers, and our business, including suspending access or referring serious misconduct to appropriate authorities.

Such measures will be exercised consistently with applicable law and will not remove legitimate customer rights concerning accepted orders.

17. Third-Party Services & Shopify

Our online store uses Shopify, which provides ecommerce platform technology.

Living Loom Rugs is the seller responsible for products offered and sold directly through our Site.

Shopify is not automatically a party to the contract of sale between Living Loom Rugs and the purchaser.

We may also use independent third-party services for:

  • Payment processing.
  • Shipping and tracking.
  • Analytics.
  • Advertising.
  • Customer communications.
  • Other website functions.

Certain services may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

Where a customer independently enters into an agreement with a payment or financing provider, that provider's applicable terms may govern its separate services.

We remain responsible for our own obligations to customers and cannot exclude those obligations merely because we use a third-party provider.

Links to external websites do not necessarily indicate endorsement or responsibility for independent third-party content.

18. Privacy & Personal Information

We respect customer privacy and handle personal information according to our published Privacy Policy and applicable laws.

Information may be processed for order fulfillment, payment verification, customer support, analytics, advertising, security, and other disclosed purposes.

Customers can review how personal information is collected, used, shared, and retained in our:

Privacy Policy

Any legally required privacy consent or opt-out choice will be handled through the appropriate mechanisms.

Acceptance of these Terms does not replace consent where separate privacy consent is legally required.

19. Website Availability & Technical Issues

We make reasonable efforts to keep our website functioning securely and accurately.

However, temporary interruptions may occur because of maintenance, technical errors, service provider outages, internet connectivity problems, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

We do not guarantee that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free at every moment.

If a technical problem affects an order, payment, or transaction, we will investigate and take appropriate corrective action.

This section does not excuse a failure to provide legally required refunds, security protections, or other obligations.

20. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Living Loom Rugs will not be responsible for indirect or consequential losses that are not legally recoverable or that are too remote from a breach of our obligations.

Where the law permits a contractual limitation of liability for an ordinary commercial claim connected with an individual order, our aggregate liability for that claim may be limited to the amount actually paid for the affected order.

This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law.

In particular, nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or restrict liability for:

  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
  • Intentional misconduct.
  • Death or personal injury where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
  • Negligence where exclusion or limitation is prohibited.
  • Legally required refunds and cancellation remedies.
  • Mandatory consumer warranties or guarantees.
  • Product defects or product liability where statutory protections apply.
  • Other rights or remedies that applicable law does not permit us to exclude or limit.

Customers retain all non-waivable remedies available under applicable consumer-protection laws.

21. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by applicable law, a user who deliberately engages in unlawful misuse of the Site or knowingly infringes third-party rights may be responsible for reasonable, documented losses directly caused by that conduct.

Any indemnification obligation will apply only to the extent lawfully enforceable and will not extend to losses caused by Living Loom Rugs' own negligence, misconduct, or breach of legal obligations.

This section does not require ordinary customers to reimburse us merely for making a legitimate complaint, requesting a refund, exercising consumer rights, or pursuing a lawful dispute.

22. Events Beyond Reasonable Control

Certain circumstances beyond our reasonable control may interfere with production, transportation, or website operations.

These may include natural disasters, significant transportation disruptions, public emergencies, governmental restrictions, or other extraordinary events.

Where such circumstances affect an order, we will communicate material developments and take reasonable steps to reduce disruption.

However, such events do not automatically excuse obligations imposed by applicable law, including legally required shipping-delay notices, cancellation rights, and refunds.

We will not use this provision to retain payment indefinitely for products that cannot lawfully be supplied.

23. Dispute Resolution & Customer Assistance

We aim to resolve customer concerns fairly and efficiently.

If a disagreement arises relating to an order, delivery, refund, or product issue, customers are encouraged to contact our support team first.

Please provide:

  • Your order number, where applicable.
  • A clear explanation of the concern.
  • Relevant photographs or transaction information.
  • The resolution you are requesting.

We will review the information and work toward an appropriate resolution.

Customers remain free to exercise applicable legal rights, use available payment dispute procedures, or contact appropriate consumer-protection authorities.

Contacting us first is encouraged but is not a mandatory condition for exercising a legal right or pursuing a legally available remedy.

Governing Law & Jurisdiction

Subject to applicable mandatory consumer-protection and other non-waivable laws, these Terms are governed by the laws of India.

Disputes may be brought before courts of competent jurisdiction, including courts in Uttarakhand, India where legally appropriate.

This provision does not require consumers to give up any non-waivable right to bring a claim in another competent jurisdiction or to rely on mandatory protections that apply to their purchase.

These Terms do not impose mandatory arbitration or a class-action waiver.

24. Updates to These Terms

We may revise these Terms periodically to reflect changes in our services, operational practices, or applicable legal requirements.

Revised Terms will be published on our website with an updated revision date.

Where legally required, we will provide additional notice or obtain agreement before material changes take effect.

Updates generally apply prospectively and do not automatically change the terms of an order already accepted.

We will not use a later policy revision to remove customer rights or materially alter accepted purchase obligations without an appropriate legal basis or customer agreement where required.

25. Severability & Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent legally permissible.

For a purchase, these Terms, the applicable linked policies, product information, checkout disclosures, confirmed custom specifications, and any other expressly agreed written conditions together form the relevant purchase terms.

Nothing in this section overrides mandatory legal obligations or representations that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Failure to enforce a provision on one occasion does not automatically waive our ability to enforce it lawfully in other circumstances.
